Saturday 30th April – bike **** – Around Felixstowe with lunch at Loompit Lake Lane – sunny periods.

Nice to see the return of the sun making it much warmer:) back to exercises in the garden while green fingered Mag does more repotting, she just loves her little garden! It was too nice a day to stay at home so I packed a picnic and set off on our bike quite late around 1.45, being a busy Bank Holiday weekend the seafront was best avoided so we headed inland to The Grove, the woods looked amazing, the trees on the whole of the ride were fantastic, such a variety of green, as for the Grove the wild flowers were a picture including blue and white bells with the wild garlic coming into bloom too:) Then onto Candlet Lane which was very quiet as was most of the ride, just how we like it as we went under the busy A 14 turning right to our newly found footpath coming out at Trimley St. Martin. Then down Grimston Lane, past the fishing lakes leading to the seat at the top of the track leading down to Loompit Lake where we stop for our picnic enjoying the peace and quiet with lovely views across rolling farmland with the River Orwell in the distance, there was a bit of a chilly breeze but luckily we were sheltered:) We spotted four deer but not much else just crows and pigeons! Well rested we take the pretty tree lined route all the way back to Trimley, then through the docks to Lidl before doing a short section of prom which was a mistake as it was heaving!!! Home for a cuppa and cake as usual, top bike ride:)
Been a good month, fingers crossed for more wind in May and hopefully I can sort some foil kit out soon!!!!
